Interview tips to crack your dream job!

Getting your dream job is never easy. One goes through immense hardships, stressful nights, preparations and rejections too. The entire process is extremely tough but at the end of the day, when there is an offer letter in hand, all that preparation just comes in handy. It is time to go job-fishing again, but when there are a lot of jobs in the sea and a single rope, the chances of you landing one becomes slight. No matter how many job search sites one skims through, searches for jobs, there is a key to job hunting that most people overlook.

With a few tucks up the sleeve and interview knowledge, one is sure to crack the interviews with grace and leave a mark on the interviewer. When you’re applying for jobs in India or across the world, these tips will always come in handy

There is so much more you need to do other than just making a resume copy. A resume is a good piece of paper to let the employer know about you but when you are sitting in the interview, make sure you use it to your advantage and don’t just repeat the things mentioned in the resume. They’ve already read your resume, utilise the opportunity to explain the skills in detail.

Make sure you read about the company, go through their website or magazine to know what is the DNA of the brand. This will help you tell the interviewer how you can be a good asset for the company and contribute in its growth if selected.  Look at its site to understand its mission statement, product/Service offerings, and management team. A few hours spent researching before your interview can impress the hiring manager greatly.

When you know the details about the company and mix that information with your vision of field, the interview is impressed as it shows that you are a thorough person who takes things seriously.

Prepare for potential interview question don’t mug the answers. Questions like tell me about yourself, where do you see yourself in 5 years etc are extremely common. Prepare of these question by jotting down key points. If you write a full 200 word and memorise it to speak it word by word in front of the interview, they would not be very impressed. Don’t make yourself seem robotic. Getting jobs in India are not easy to get but they can surely be made simpler.

There are a number of ways to prepare for an interview at home without the help of a professional career counsellor or coach. You can practice interviews all by yourself or ask for your friends and family to assist you. Even if the interviewer is acting friendly, avoid inappropriate abatements. It is advised to not use any slangs or jargons.

Maintain your body language and speak in a presentable manner. Practise in front of the mirror before showing up for the actual interview. In case you feel the interview isn’t going as well as you hoped, don’t be sad or demotivated?. Continue to reply honestly and enthusiastically. Remember, a positive attitude can leave a good impression on the interviewer.

Jobs in India have a pretty tough bar of interviews so it is possible that you don’t have answers to all the questions. Just answer what you know and don’t lose hope. If they see you’re getting disappointed of agitating in the situation, it might set a bad impression on the customer.

At last, when the interview is over, take the opportunity to ask the interview any question you might want to ask. Follow up and send a thank-you note Following up after an interview can help you make a lasting impression and set you apart from the crowd. do not hesitate to bring up whatever concerns you
